Privacy policy

The short version

Wait Until is local-first. Everything you add — your countdown location, birthdays and anniversaries — is stored only in your own browser’s local storage. We do not have an account system, we do not receive your personal events, and we cannot see them.

What stays on your device

• Your chosen reference location (used to calculate countdowns).
• Any birthdays or anniversaries you add.

Clearing your browser storage removes this data permanently. It is never transmitted to our servers.

Location detection

To choose an initial countdown location we use approximate signals only: a coarse, IP-derived country/area supplied by our edge network with each request (read once, never stored or logged), and your browser’s timezone setting. If you explicitly choose “use my precise location”, your coordinates are used once, in your browser, to pick the nearest city from our catalogue — the coordinates are then discarded and never sent anywhere. We never collect or store precise GPS coordinates, and we never show your IP address or technical geolocation details.

Analytics and advertising

If we enable analytics or advertising in future, it will be limited to aggregate, privacy-respecting measurement (for example Google Analytics 4) and clearly disclosed here before it goes live. We will never sell personal data.
